SERVSIG extends its gratitude to Professor Martin Mende, Jim Moran Professor of Business Administration in the Department of Marketing at Florida State University’s College of Business, for his outstanding service as Liaison Officer on the SERVSIG Board.

Martin served SERVSIG as Liaison Officer for seven years. His responsibility was to represent SERVSIG at the major AMA conferences by organizing special sessions that showcase the breadth and more importantly the relevance of service research. Martin organized twelve special sessions and introduced innovative new formats, such as SERVSIG’s Got Talent. Moreover, he served on several SERVSIG awards committees. Martin’s creative ideas, collegiality, and enthusiasm always brought a sparkle to the SERVSIG board meetings and events. We owe many SERVSIG successes and innovation to Martin!

Martin filled this role with great passion about service research as we know from his own research presentations. He now passes the Liaison Officer job on to Jan Schumann from the University of Passau, Germany, with whom he worked very closely for more than half a year now.

Martin, we thank you very much for your great service to the field! You are certainly a role model! We wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.

Sincerely,
SERVSIG Board Members
