Roland Rust has been named this year’s winner of the Buck Weaver Award by the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science. Rust is Distinguished University Professor and David Bruce Smith Chair in Marketing, where he is Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Service. He is also Visiting Chair in Marketing Science at the Erasmus School of Economics, and International Research Fellow at the Centre for Corporate Reputation at the University of Oxford. 

Rust is best known for his award-winning work in the areas of service and customer-centered management, and he founded the Journal of Service Research (JSR), the top-cited service research journal, and the AMA/INFORMS Frontiers in Service Conference, the world’s leading annual service research conference. His models have been applied at many of the world’s leading corporations. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marketing, and  JSR. He is currently Vice President of Publications for EMAC, and serves as INFORMS Representative for the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science. He also previously served as President of the INFORMS Service Science Section.

Buck Weaver Award
The Buck Weaver Award is given annually by the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (ISMS). “The award honors distinguished scholars and practitioners who have excelled in the achievement of rigor and relevance in marketing science.”
