Call for Papers for a Special Issue of Service Science
Platforms and Innovative Marketplaces for Services

With advances in Internet and mobile communications technology, many markets for products and services have been transformed by multi-sided, technology-enabled platforms. These platforms and innovative marketplaces for services offer avenues for research that has great academic and practical impacts. This special issue of Service Science aims to expediently publish high-quality interdisciplinary research across marketing, operations, information systems, and other related areas that studies platform-based businesses, especially service-related platforms. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, peer-to-peer product-sharing and services platforms, crowdsourcing platforms, business-to-business platforms, matching platforms, and crowdfunding platforms. We are open to all research methodologies ranging from analytical and empirical to behavioral and experimental.

Submission Process and Timing
All submissions should be submitted via Service Science online submission system. All submissions will be subject to the journal’s standard peer review process. The estimated timeline of this special issue is as follows:
– Submission of full paper: February 28, 2022
– Feedback from editorial team: May 31, 2022
– Submission of revised manuscript: October 31, 2022
– Final decision (subject to minor revisions): January 31, 2023
