On May 29-30, 2016, 50 leading service marketing scholars from Europe, USA, and Australasia came together in Paris for the Thought Leaders in Service Marketing Strategy Conference. The conference co-chairs Frederic Dalsace, Rob Palmatier, Francesca Sotgiu, and Stefan Worm aimed to create a highly productive environment to discuss emerging research. The conference also provided scholars with the unique opportunity to interact with several editors of top journals (Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Service Research, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science). V. Kumar (editor-in-chief, Journal of Marketing) and Roland Rust (editor-in-chief, IJRM) both gave keynote speeches on service marketing strategy.
The event took place in Paris close to Champs Elysées, in the heart of the golden triangle, which provided an extraordinary setting. The conference was made possible by the generous contributions of Labex ECODEC and HEC Paris. There is a special issue on Service Marketing Strategy in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science linked to the conference (see here for the call for papers), edited by Mike Brady, Todd Arnold, and Rob Palmatier.
Special thanks goes to Francesca Sotgiu, Stefan Worm, Rob Palmatier, and Frederic Dalsace, for all the organization. Awesome event, wonderful colleagues, great community.
