The Services Special Interest Group (SERVSIG) of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the 24th Annual SERVSIG Doctoral Consortium, preceding the Frontiers in Service Conference, to be held at Fordham University, New York.
The consortium will begin with a welcome reception on Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 and will continue with full-day sessions on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017. The consortium is designed to help doctoral students and new faculty succeed in their careers. By promoting an intimate and collegial atmosphere, the consortium provides a wonderful opportunity for participants to interact with the field’s leading service scholars and also get feedback from them on research.

This session will explore the best practices to publish with different methodologies in service research. We invited researchers who possess different methodology expertise (i.e., experiments, field studies, meta-analyses, archival, access to archival data). Drawing upon their own publication journeys speakers will reflect on the state-of the art in their domain, the DO’s and DON’Ts, how to best position the work, how to deal with reviewer comments, and how to ensure that you are contributing to the field. |

| 3:00pm – 5:00pm | Breakout Session: Doctoral Student ResearchThree to four doctoral students will be assigned to two or three faculty fellows. Next to the faculty fellows listed above, we are delighted that a large number of renowned services scholars agreed to participate, including for example Roland Rust and Mary Jo Bitner. Each doctoral student will be required to submit a brief document prior to the consortium which summarizes the preferred research topic to be discussed during the breakout session. During the session, each doctoral student will provide a brief presentation of their selected research topic and will receive feedback from both faculty fellows and other doctoral students. |
