Call for Papers

9th Nordic Workshop on Relationship Dynamics – NoRD2016
September 28-30, 2016

The NoRD2016 organizers invite submissions to the 9th Nordic Workshop on Relationship Dynamics. NoRD workshops are open to all researchers in the areas of Marketing and Management (or related areas); the ‘Nordic’ title simply refers to the locations and people organizing the workshops.

NoRD focuses on dynamics in buyer-seller relationships (both b-to-c and b-to-b relationships). As a concept, relationship dynamics refers to any type of changes taking place in relationships; their beginnings, their ups and downs, their endings, including ongoing efforts to stabilize relationships.

The main purpose of the workshop is to give researchers at all levels (i.e. from doctoral students to professors) interested in the field of relationship dynamics an opportunity to present, discuss, and develop their research. An important feature of NoRD is that the papers to be presented will be made available to the participants a week before the workshop. At NoRD, each participant (and paper) will benefit from quite extensive comments from two discussants (who have read the paper in advance) as well as other participants during 45 minutes presentation/discussion slot. NoRD appreciates all kinds of papers related to the relationship dynamics theme, conceptual explorations, empirical studies, and literature reviews. NoRD welcomes papers that are nearly there, but still need some help to jump over a journal publication threshold and in particular work-in-progress papers. The fundamental purpose of participating is not so much to present findings from concluded studies, but rather to embrace, contribute to and benefit from a complex research topic and to get help and new ideas and inspiration.

In addition, to enhance co-operation and dissemination of ideas, NoRD includes teamwork on specific themes that are of current interest (suggestions will be invited beforehand). The goal is to generate new research themes and build research links around the challenging field of relationship dynamics. To guarantee fruitful, constructive, and personal interaction, the number of participants is restricted to about 25 persons.
