International Journal of Electronic Commerce
Call for papers for special issue on
Internet of Things
Guest editors: Professor Eldon Y. Li, California Polytechnic State University, USA and National Chengchi University, Taiwan, Professor Timon C. Du, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Internet of Things (IoT) assigns unique identifications to individual objects, be they human beings, home appliances, animals, cars, phones, watches, animals, or objects we have yet to imagine. These uniquely identified objects are connected through the Internet in wired or wireless fashion. The IoT platforms are anticipated to host trillions of interconnected objects in the coming decades. With the help of sensors, receivers, and big data analytics, the IoT is set to reinvent the world, giving us new ways to monitor, use, manage, automate, and play with objects in your life.
The complexity of IoT challenges many research domains, including decision models, optimization, data analysis, intelligent system, consumer behaviors, e-commerce, design science, cloud computing, semantics web, etc. The goal of this special issue is to foster theoretical development and innovative practices on new theories, methodologies, technologies, and applications related to IoT. We encourage submissions on theoretical, practical, as well as experimental studies, from both academia and industry.
TOPICS:
All topics related to IoT are welcome, including but not limited to the following categories:
· Behavioral issues related to IoT adoption, usage, and user-computer interaction
· Business analytics in IoT applications
· Decision support systems for IoT
· Distributed intelligent system in IoT objects
· Environmental issues in IoT adoption
· Framework to manage ownership of IoT data
· Information sharing of IoT data
· Innovative applications of IoT
· IoT and big data analytics
· Mobility and tractability of IoT data
· New role of governments, regulators, professional society, and associations
· New technologies to collect and manage IoT data
· Privacy and security issues in IoT adoption
· Technologies and devices enhancement for IoT
· Trust and other behavioral models in IoT
IMPORTANT DATES:
The submission should follow the schedule below:
* Full paper submission: September 1, 2015
* Notify review decision: October 1, 2015
* Submit shorter revised version of paper for ICEB Proceedings: November 1, 2015
* Conference presentation: December 7, 2015
* Submit revised paper to special issue: February 1, 2016
* Complete review process for special issue: July 2016
* Submit final package to IJEC Editorial Office: August 2016
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Please note that this special issue is designed as a platform to address the issues of IoT technologies and its adoption. It will be tightly associated with ICEB conference held in Hong Kong at December 6-10, 2015. Those papers accepted by the first run of review will be invited to submit shorter versions of the papers for the conference and to present them at December 7 to the conference participants. The conference participants will have chance to read the shorter version of each paper before attaining the presentation. Thus, we expect through the presentation and exciting knowledge exchange, the quality of each paper can be further enhanced.
Submitted papers must make a significant and novel contribution to theory, or practice to the area. Interdisciplinary collaboration and new methodologies are welcome. Interested authors should submit electronic manuscript after the conference via ICEB official website and select the “IJEC special issue” to submit. For questions regarding the special issue and article submissions please contact any of the guest editors by e-mail.
