The Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research (JHTR) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, both conceptual and empirical, that clearly enhances the theoretical development of the hospitality and tourism field. JHTR is one of the leading journals in the field and has an impact factor of 2.685
Purpose:
This special issue aims to publish papers focusing on the development of new methods or applications of state-of-the-art methodologies with new perspectives for economic analysis in tourism and hospitality. The intention is to provide a platform for some of the most advanced methodologies and relevant breakthroughs in some attractive and rapidly growing research areas. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demand modelling and forecasting
- Spatial economics
- Productivity and efficiency modelling
- Innovation and competitiveness
- Performance and revenue management
- Agglomeration and spatial economics
- Big data
- Economics of transport and tourism
For these topics, we encourage the submission of papers that focus on the following methodologies
- Bayesian econometrics
- Artificial intelligence
- Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium modelling
- New generation of structural equation modelling
- New segmentation techniques
- Dynamic game theory
Submission Guidelines:
Papers submitted must not have been published, accepted for publication, or be under review for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal’s “Submission Guidelines” (https://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/journal/journal-hospitality-tourism-research#submission-guidelines)
Initially, one-page abstracts should be submitted directly to the ScholarOne Manuscript platform (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jhtr) by Dec. 15, 2018. When you choose the “Type,” be sure you select Special Edition: Economic analysis in tourism and hospitality: New methods and perspectives. You can enter your title and abstract in the designated fields, then we are asking for a Word document with your abstract only be uploaded in the files section. You can use the “Main Document” designation. Simply enter zero for the numbers of figures, tables, and words where prompted.
The abstracts will be reviewed by both editors, and those that make significant contribution and fit the theme of the special issue will be invited for full paper submission. Full papers should be submitted before May 15, 2019 through the journal’s online system. All papers will be peer reviewed before possible inclusion in the special issue.
