You have expertise in decision science, psychology, consumer behavior, or behavioral finance, or a related field. You are interested to generate, share, and apply knowledge on how digitalization affects decision making. You provide digital solutions to\u00a0financial\u00a0decision making and, depending on your expertise and interests, to other fields such as health, biotechnology, neuroscience, psychology, law or humanities. You will be working in a\u00a0vibrant environment\u00a0where\u00a0scientists and researchers\u00a0from\u00a0different disciplines\u00a0focused on\u00a0data science\u00a0work on\u00a0translating academic knowledge to practice\u00a0through cases with companies and governmental and non-profit organisations. You will work closely with all-star professors from various disciplines, including law. You will set up\u00a0challenging research projects\u00a0together with other researchers.<\/p>\n

About BISS<\/span><\/p>\n

The Brightlands Institute for Smart Society (BISS) is\u00a0Maastricht University\u2019s platform\u00a0for\u00a0translational data-driven research and education,\u00a0joining expertise and staff from\u00a0all six UM faculties. It offers \"\"a\u00a0flexible, agile, and state-of-the-art Living Lab environment\u00a0that nurtures\u00a0collective intelligence and integrative thinking. The multidisciplinary activities will be set up as projects, partner agreements, and programs,\u00a0featuring innovation, collaboration, awareness, and solutions.<\/p>\n

BISS is governed by a management team consisting of a managing director and several principal investigators (PI) who lead a group of researchers. The PIs are jointly responsible for development and implementation of the collaborative scientific strategy, direction, and content. BISS has a administrative, financial, legal, and organisational support team.<\/p>\n

The Position<\/strong><\/p>\n

The activities at BISS will be built upon the following areas of interest: Smart Health, Smart Decision Making, Smart Legal Analytics, Smart Societies and Institutions, Smart Brain Science, Smart Service Systems, and Smart Data. For this position, we are looking for a researchers to support the PI on Smart Decision Making in setting up and executing challenging projects.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

PhD in decision science, psychology, consumer behavior, behavioral finance, data science or a related field;
\nPassion for Data Science;
\nDemonstrated experience in organisational tasks;
\nTeam player
\nDemonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team;
\nIdeally have experience with writing grant applications and project proposals;
\nExcellent oral and written English communication; Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
