Dear Colleagues,<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"The International Research Symposium in Service Management was established in 2010 as part of the Service Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) Initiative. It is an annual Symposium, hosted successively by different universities around the world. The Symposium\u2019s aim is to promote research and publications among young service researchers by providing a unique platform through which they are able to network with researchers from both their own country and researchers internationally.<\/p>\n

\"\"The IRSSM symposium and its activities are generously supported by various research centers and universities from around the world, such as: Center for Service Research, Karlstad University, Sweden; University of Queensland, Australia; Queensland University of Technology, Australia; Radboud University, The Netherlands; Cornell University, USA; and St John\u2019s University, USA. Each Symposium hosts between 80 and 120 participants from 25-26 countries.<\/p>\n

We aim to ensure:<\/p>\n

01. Papers presented at the IRSSM Symposium are further developed based on internal reviews to prepare them for publication in academic journals.
\n02. A focus on creating working relations between young service researchers and established service researchers.
\n03. The Symposium fosters academic debate and the establishment of research collaborations across regions and countries.<\/p>\n

Participants have the option of having their extended abstracts and accepted full papers published in the refereed conference proceedings. In addition, selected papers from the Symposium will receive developmental reviews from the scientific committee for submission to journals such as: the Journal of Service Management (JOSM), Journal of Service Theory and Practice (JSTP), International Journal of Services, Economics and Management (IJSEM), and European Business Review (EBR).<\/p>\n

The symposium organizing committee invites one page abstract submission (350-500 words). All abstracts should be formatted to facilitate a double blind review process. Authors\u2019 names and details, including names of all co-authors plus affiliations and addresses for general correspondence (including email address) of each author, topic code, and a brief biography (maximum 100 words) of the presenter should appear on a separate cover page that will be removed prior to the double blind review process. Papers may focus on any sector, but should draw from the service management or services marketing literature. No author should have more than three submissions, as either a single or a co-author. Preference will be given to those submissions that show evidence of a clear contribution to the present body of theoretical knowledge in services.<\/p>\n

Submission procedure<\/h3>\n

The authors have two options in submitting their work. Those who only wish to present their work at the symposium are invited to submit a one-page abstract by 5th June 2019. Those who would like to submit a full paper (in order to be eligible for consideration for the best paper award, young service researcher awards, and for submission for developmental review and preparation for submission to Journals, for preparing for Journals submission) should first submit a three-page extended abstract of the full paper by 20th July 2019. Following notification of its acceptance, the revised full papers are to be submitted by 20th August 2019.<\/p>\n
