Researchers have identified problems and solutions to advance wellbeing across a myriad of contexts. Specifically related to services, Transformative Service Research (TSR) proposes that, service research is especially pertinent to well-being research since consumers are embedded within services in all aspects of their lives. TSR is defined as “service research that centers on creating uplifting changes and improvements in the well-being of individuals (consumers and employees), communities, collectives, societies, and ecosystems.” (Anderson et al 2013). As TSR work progresses, however, critical reflection and insights on “helping without harming” becomes central.

Special Issue Co-Editors:

Christopher Blocker, PhD,
Associate Professor of Marketing
College of Business,
Colorado State University
chris.blocker@colostate.edu

Brennan Davis, PhD,
Associate Professor of Marketing
Orfalea College of Business
California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)
Bdavis39@calpoly.edu

Laurel Anderson, PhD,
Associate Professor
W.P Carey School of Business
Arizona State University
Laurel.Anderson@asu.edu

Full information available at

https://journals.sagepub.com/pb-assets/cmscontent/JSR/Transformative%20CFP.pdf

Special issue of the Journal of Service Research “Transformative Service Research and Unintended Consequences: Helping without Harming” Submission deadline: Jan 31, 2020. “Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences and failing to achieve anything useful.” – Margaret J.
