The Tourism and Retail Management Conference (TRCM)\u00a0will be held in Macao SAR, China on 3-4 December 2018. The Conference will be hosted by the Institute for Tourism Studies, Macao (IFT), and jointly organized with the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, University of South Carolina, USA, and Nakai University Collage of Tourism and Service Management, China.<\/p>\n<p>The conference theme is \u201cAdvances in Tourism and Retail Services\u201d. The dramatic, rapid, and concurrent growth of tourism and retail industries creates both tremendous opportunities and serious challenges, forcing organizations and communities to ponder over many questions requiring considerable investigation and debate. The conference therefore invites researchers, educators, and practitioners to submit papers and presentations on the following topics or closely related areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Innovation &amp; development in tourism and retail management, operations &amp; delivery;<\/li>\n<li>Co-creation &amp; enhancement of the retail service experience;<\/li>\n<li>Revenue management, economics &amp; strategic pricing of retail services in a tourism setting;<\/li>\n<li>Marketing, brand building &amp; delivery of tourism-related retail services;<\/li>\n<li>Human resource management &amp; labor economic issues;<\/li>\n<li>Education &amp; training in retail and tourism;<\/li>\n<li>Use of technology, social media &amp; communication innovations;<\/li>\n<li>Governance, stakeholder &amp; community issues;<\/li>\n<li>Corporate social responsibilities of tourism retail service organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurship in tourism retail marketing;<\/li>\n<li>Leadership issues &amp; ethics of tourism retail organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Growth, franchising &amp; expansion challenges;<\/li>\n<li>Service quality, customer satisfaction in tourism retail organizations; and<\/li>\n<li>Non-conventional tourism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Types of Papers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extended abstract should be about three pages ( do not exceed 3,000 words, including a short abstract, key words, main text, references, tables, and figures)<\/li>\n<li>Full research papers (empirical or\u00a0 conceptual papers) should be between 4,000-5,000 words (do not exceed 5,000 words, including abstract, key words, main text, references, tables, and figures)<\/li>\n<li>Working papers should be between 1,200-1,500 words (do not exceed 3,000 words)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Paper Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please follow these guidelines when submitting your paper:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide the full title of the paper as it will appear in the conference program<\/li>\n<li>Include a list of authors, first name, surname and institutional affiliation<\/li>\n<li>All papers should include:\n<ul>\n<li>An abstract of approximately 150 words<\/li>\n<li>A list of 4-6 key words<\/li>\n<li>An introduction that provides an overview of the paper and the significance of the research<\/li>\n<li>A literature review that provides the background \u00a0and outlines the context and\/or academic literature that informs the research<\/li>\n<li>A section that outlines research approach and method (for empirical research)<\/li>\n<li>A description and application of the research findings (for full papers)<\/li>\n<li>A conclusion that provides a summation of the paper and its contribution to the themes of this conference<\/li>\n<li>Writing style should follow APA ( 6th edition <a href=\"http:\/\/student.ucol.ac.nz\/library\/onlineresources\/documents\/apa_guide_2015.pdf\">http:\/\/student.ucol.ac.nz\/library\/onlineresources\/documents\/apa_guide_2015.pdf<\/a> )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Please adhere to the format in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tourismandretailconference.org\/call-for-papers\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">template<\/a>\u00a0provided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Publishing Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ALL accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISSN number, either in the form of extended abstract or full paper or working paper. The Conference Paper Committee will take care of the proceeding editing, but all authors should be responsible for language, copy-right of any tables or figures, and authenticity of the paper.\u00a0 For any papers to be included in the proceedings, at least one author must attend and present the paper. Please note that papers aiming for best paper awards must be in full paper format.<\/p>\n<p>Selected papers will be included in special issues of Journal of Business Research and Journal of Global Scholars of Marketing Science. Please note that invited papers will still go through a double-blinded review process of respective journals.
