{"id":6091,"date":"2018-01-18T21:43:31","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T02:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/?p=6091"},"modified":"2018-03-23T12:31:12","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T16:31:12","slug":"call-for-emerging-service-scholar-award-2018-granted-by-u-porto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2018\/01\/call-for-emerging-service-scholar-award-2018-granted-by-u-porto\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Emerging Service Scholar Award 2018 (granted by U Porto)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to request nominations for<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award\u00a02018<\/em><\/strong><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>granted\u00a0by the University of Porto<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>SERVSIG<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>University of Porto<\/strong> are proud to present\u00a0the\u00a0<strong><em>Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0This award recognizes contributions to advancing the study of service research, and will be given annually to honor the contributions of a researcher in the earlier stages of his or her academic career.\u00a0The SERVSIG\u00a0Emerging Service Scholar Award launched in 2015 and will be presented at the\u00a027<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Frontiers in Service Conference in Austin.\u00a0The award includes a cash prize and is sponsored by the University of Porto.<\/p>\n<p>The award\u00a0includes a cash prize\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>$1000, plaque<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>spotlight features<\/strong>\u00a0on the SERVSIG website &amp; newsletter\u00a0and other publications.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5235\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/D3_f-153-e1500387089613.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5235\" class=\"wp-image-5235 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/D3_f-153-e1500387089613-300x291.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"291\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5235\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Last year winner \u2013 Martin Mende with Clay Vorhees, chair of the committee<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recipients of the\u00a0<strong><em>SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0should have their doctoral degree up to 10 years prior to the year of the award or be nominated for the award in the last two years. Other eligibility issues:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Candidates for a SERVSIG Award do not have to be a member of SERVSIG or the AMA to be eligible to win.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Candidates may be from anywhere in the world. Since its inception, SERVSIG has sought to be globally oriented and globally active.<\/p>\n<p>SERVSIG would like to thank the following members for their willingness to serve on this committee:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chair<\/strong>: Martin Mende (<a href=\"mailto:mmende@fsu.edu\">mmende@fsu.edu<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Liliana Bove<\/li>\n<li>Kristina Heinonen<\/li>\n<li>Chatura Ranaweera<\/li>\n<li>Kimmy Wa Chan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year, SERVSIG appoints a panel of scholars to serve as the selection committee.\u00a0The panel solicits nominations from the service community and selects the recipient of the award. Criteria to be used to determine contribution include innovation, methodological rigor, and both current impact and future potential to substantially advance service research.
