2017 SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>
\n<\/em><\/strong>granted\u00a0by the digital media lab
\nat UMass Boston.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

SERVSIG<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0digital media lab @ UMass Boston<\/strong>\u00a0are proud to present\u00a0the\u00a0Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0This award recognizes contributions to advancing the study of service research, and will be given annually to honor the contributions of a researcher in the earlier stages of his or her academic career.\u00a0The SERVSIG\u00a0Emerging Service Scholar Award launched in 2015 and will be presented at the\u00a026th<\/sup> Frontiers in Service Conference in New York.\u00a0The award includes a cash prize and is sponsored by the digital media lab\u00a0@ UMass Boston.<\/p>\n

The award is sponsored by the digital media lab\u00a0(dml) at UMass Boston. The\u00a0digital media lab @ UMass Boston\u00a0<\/strong>is a research center founded in 2014 at the University of Massachusetts Boston under the leadership of\u00a0Werner Kunz<\/em>.\u00a0The mission of the center\u00a0is to turn the research and intellectual capital of academia on digital marketing, social media, and innovative media services into insights for real-world application. The center fosters a global community of researchers, practitioners, students, and alumni to advance new knowledge, widespread learning, and impactful dialogue on the challenges of a new digital media\u00a0era.<\/p>\n

Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recipients of the\u00a0SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0should have their doctoral degree up to 10 years prior to the year of the award or be nominated for the award in the last two years. Other eligibility issues:<\/p>\n

– Candidates for a SERVSIG Award do not have to be a member of SERVSIG or the AMA to be eligible to win.<\/p>\n

– Candidates may be from anywhere in the world. Since its inception, SERVSIG has sought to be globally oriented and globally active.<\/p>\n

SERVSIG would like to thank the following members for their willingness to serve on this committee:<\/p>\n

Selection Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each year, SERVSIG appoints a panel of scholars to serve as the selection committee.\u00a0The panel solicits nominations from the service community, and selects the recipient of the award. Criteria to be used to determine contribution include innovation, methodological rigor, and both current impact and future potential to substantially advance service research. Once nominated, the nominee will automatically be included in the consideration set for the award for the subsequent two years without the need for re-nomination.<\/p>\n

Nominations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

To nominate a candidate for the award, nominators should provide:<\/p>\n

– A nomination letter (two pages maximum length; self-nominations are also acceptable).
\n– A current vita for the nominated scholar or a web link to an online vita.
\n– No more than three publications representative of the nominee\u2019s contributions.
\n– All material needs to be submitted electronically.<\/p>\n
