Do the models and findings from our research also hold in emerging countries? And in how far can service research help to address the challenges of complex service systems and value networks that arise from the massive refugee flows in Europe?<\/span><\/p>\n

\"lerzan \"timothyThe\u00a0plenary sessions at\u00a0<\/b>Servsig 2016<\/b><\/span><\/a>, taking place from\u00a0June 17\u250019 in Maastricht<\/b>, will focus on those two important and timely topics. The first plenary session will kick-off with Timothy Keiningham<\/em> and Lerzan Akzoy<\/em> who will present the key insights from their bestseller book \u201cThe Wallet Allocation Rule<\/strong>\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"ManuelThen, Manuel Koser<\/em> will present the implications for emerging countries<\/strong> like South Africa. Manuel Koser is the CEO of Silvertree Capital and cofounder of Zando, an online shoes & apparel retailer in South Africa. Since most of our research is conducted in western countries, an important question for our service research community is whether our models and findings also hold in\u00a0emerging countries?<\/span><\/p>\n

\"screen-capture-7_1\"\"Christian-Gro\u0308nroos_1\"Jochen Wirtz<\/em> and Christian Gr\u00f6nroos<\/em> will discuss the implications for service research.<\/p>\n

The second plenary session will focus on complex service systems and value networks in transformative services<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"jolandaWe invited Jolanda Gerbecks<\/em> who works at the Maastricht refugee center<\/strong> to share several intriguing stories of service complexities that refugees face or lack. With more than 1 million migrants entering Europe, European countries are faced with the massive challenges of setting up a complex service system in a short period of time. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"ruthRuth Bolton<\/em> will reflect on these narratives from a theoretical perspective and prelude interesting research avenues.<\/span><\/p>\n
