{"id":2173,"date":"2016-01-23T22:07:05","date_gmt":"2016-01-23T22:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/?p=2173"},"modified":"2016-03-28T23:13:40","modified_gmt":"2016-03-28T23:13:40","slug":"call-for-emerging-service-scholar-award-granted-by-dmlumass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2016\/01\/call-for-emerging-service-scholar-award-granted-by-dmlumass\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Emerging Service Scholar Award (granted by dml@UMass)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">I would like to call for proposals for<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>2016 SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>granted\u00a0by the digital media lab<br \/>\nat UMass Boston.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-856\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Services-SIG-Logo21.jpg\" alt=\"Services-SIG-Logo2\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/>SERVSIG<\/strong>\u00a0and the <strong>digital media lab @ UMass Boston<\/strong>\u00a0are proud to present\u00a0the\u00a0<strong><em>Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0This award recognizes contributions to advancing the study of service research, and will be given annually to honor the contributions of a researcher in the earlier stages of his or her academic career.\u00a0The SERVSIG\u00a0Emerging Service Scholar Award launched in 2015 and will be presented at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2015\/09\/frontiers-in-service-2016-cfp-open\/\">Frontiers in Services Conference 2016<\/a> in Bergen, Norway.\u00a0The award includes a cash prize and is sponsored by the digital media lab\u00a0@ UMass Boston.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a class=\"fbx-link fbx-instance\" href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Untitled.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1526\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Untitled.png\" alt=\"Untitled\" width=\"84\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>The award\u00a0includes a cash prize\u00a0of <strong>$1000, plaque<\/strong> and <strong>spotlight features<\/strong> on the SERVSIG website &amp; newsletter\u00a0and other publications. The award is sponsored by the digital media lab\u00a0(dml) at UMass Boston. The\u00a0<strong>digital media lab @ UMass Boston <\/strong>is a research center founded in 2014 at the University of Massachusetts Boston under the leadership of <em>Werner Kunz<\/em>.\u00a0The mission of the center\u00a0is to turn the research and intellectual capital of academia on digital marketing, social media, and innovative media services into insights for real-world application. Other eligibility issues:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates for a SERVSIG Award do not have to be a member of SERVSIG or the AMA to be eligible to win.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates may be from anywhere in the world. From the beginning, SERVSIG has sought to be globally oriented and globally active.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The SERVSIG thanks the following committee members for their commitment and their work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chair: Sabine Benoit (<span class=\"s1\">University of Surrey<\/span>) &lt;s.benoit@surrey.ac.uk&gt;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Mike Brady, Florida State University, USA<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Rod Brodie, University of Auckland, New Zealand<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Lisa Br\u00fcggen, Maastricht University, Netherlands\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">B\u00e5rd Tronvoll,\u00a0Hedmark Univeristy College, Norway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year, ServSIG appoints a panel of scholars to serve as selection committee.\u00a0The panel solicits nominations from the service community, and selects the recipient of the award. Criteria to be used to determine contribution include innovation, methodological rigor, and both current impact and future potential to substantially advance service research.
