Teaching Service in the Age of AI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most conversations about AI in teaching start with tools. This opening session starts one step earlier, with the question of what we actually want students to struggle with. Drawing on current evidence about how students and faculty are really using generative AI, it maps three tensions every course redesign runs into \u2014 access and equity, capability and offloading, integrity and the value of the credential \u2014 and offers a simple vocabulary of productive friction for the sessions that follow.
