Arranged around three main themes, the faculty fellows shared their experiences and insights.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-066.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1584\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-066-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Frontiers-DC-2015-066\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-066-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-066-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-066-900x596.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><em>Kick Start and Manage Your Career<\/em>: <strong>Sertan Kabadayi<\/strong> (Fordham University), <strong>Ray Fisk<\/strong> (Texas State University), <strong>Janet McColl-Kennedy<\/strong> (University of Queensland), and <strong>Javier Reynoso<\/strong> (Monterrey Institute of Technology) shared their personal accounts of their career paths and guiding philosophies. Starting with preparing for the job market, the presenters emphasized the need to stay focused and build a reputation in an area, but also to see the bigger picture. They also reminded the participants to remember to take time for themselves to recharge.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-1583 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-081-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Frontiers-DC-2015-081\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-081-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-081-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Frontiers-DC-2015-081-900x600.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Publishing Relevant and Rigorous Research<\/em>: In this second session, editors or past editors of some of the top journals in the service research field shared their insights into what it means to publish relevant and rigorous research. <strong>Ed Malthouse<\/strong> (Northwestern University and past co-editor of Journal of Interactive Marketing), <strong>Steve Baron<\/strong> (University of Liverpool and co-editor of Journal of Services Marketing), <strong>Mary Jo Bitner<\/strong> (Arizona State University and editor of Journal of Service Research), <strong>Paul Maglio<\/strong> (UC Merced and editor of Service Science), and <strong>Marianna Sigala<\/strong> (University of the Aegean and co-editor of Journal of Service Theory and Practice) participated in this second session. A large part of being an academic is sharing knowledge with others and having an impact on our students\u2019 lives\u2014the business leaders of tomorrow. This was the message of the session. This longer format with feedback from multiple faculty and participants was introduced for the first time this year based on feedback from prior years. Doctoral students received guidance on how to develop their ideas, to get their paper published, and to disseminate their ideas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/FrontiersInService_2457306_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1460\" src=\"http:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/FrontiersInService_2457306_1-300x132.jpg\" alt=\"Frontiers In Service 7-10-15\" width=\"300\" height=\"132\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/FrontiersInService_2457306_1-300x132.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/FrontiersInService_2457306_1-1024x449.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/FrontiersInService_2457306_1-900x395.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Participating doctoral students were also encouraged to apply for The Liam Glynn Scholarship awarded to four doctoral students with the support of Arizona State University Center for Services Leadership: <strong>Anna Girard, Francisco Villaroel-Ordenes, Anne Grego Nagel <\/strong>and<strong> Kristina Lindsey Hall.<\/strong> Each received a framed certificate and a cash prize this year.
