2024 SERVSIG Best Dissertation Award<\/strong> (granted by Maastricht University)<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

SERVSIG<\/strong> and the Maastricht University<\/strong> School of Business and Economics<\/strong> are proud to present the Best Dissertation Award<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. The award includes a cash prize sponsored by Maastricht University, plaque<\/strong> and spotlight features<\/strong> on the SERVSIG website & newsletter and other publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Award, Eligibility, and Selection:<\/strong>
\u2013 Candidates must be doctoral students \/ graduates in marketing or a related field (e.g., consumer behavior, marketing strategy, operations\u00a0management, organizational behavior, human resources, strategy, finance, information systems, economics, etc.) in a globally recognized university.
\u2013 To be eligible, students must (have) successfully defended their dissertation between\u00a0October\u00a01, 2022\u00a0\u2013\u00a0September\u00a030, 2023.<\/strong>
\u2013 A nominator must nominate her\/his\/their candidate by submitting a letter that highlights why the dissertation qualifies for this award in addition to confirming the successful defense of the dissertation (please see details below).\u00a0
\u2013 Self-nominations are not accepted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission Details:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nominators must submit 2 documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Blinded<\/strong> summary of the candidate dissertation<\/strong>, which should describe the framework of their research studies, research questions, hypotheses (if applicable), related literature, data \/ methodological approach (if applicable), findings, contributions to service theory and practice, and future research along with limitations of the dissertation. Please note: Nominators should provide enough detail for the selection committee to be able to conduct an appropriate evaluation of the work. 
\u2013 The summary must not exceed 5 single-spaced text pages <\/strong>(not including references, figures, and tables; 12-point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margin).
\u2013 Please note that ALL these materials must be submitted in one single blinded file<\/span>. 
\u2013 Please follow the formatting guidelines of the Journal of Service Research<\/em>.
\u2013 Submissions that do exceed the above page limit, that do not follow the style guide, or that are submitted as multiple files cannot be considered. Similarly, hard copy submissions cannot be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. In addition to the summary document, a nominator must provide a nomination letter and candidate CV<\/strong>, addressing why the dissertation deserves to be considered for the award. This nomination letter must be included in the submission email. The nominator\u2019s email letter should include the following information: candidate\u2019s name, phone number\/s, e-mail address, the university\/school awarding the degree, the date of the successful dissertation defense, name\/s of the faculty member(s) on the dissertation committee, and the candidate\u2019s current and future positions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summary and nomination letter need to be in English, but\u00a0the dissertation itself does not have to be English necessarily.<\/strong>\u00a0Also the\u00a0candidate\u2019s academic CV\u00a0<\/strong>is required. It is recommended to include both published\/accepted and ongoing work (specifying the status of the manuscript \u2013 e.g., under review, which journal, which round).
Please submit both documents (1. Blinded summary 2. Nomination & CV) in two separate pdf files\u00a0via e-mail to\u00a0Sertan Kabadayi<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Feb 15, 202<\/strong>4. We will collect the submissions\u00a0on behalf of the academic selection\u00a0committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
