{"id":13302,"date":"2023-11-20T04:13:05","date_gmt":"2023-11-20T09:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/?p=13302"},"modified":"2024-01-29T04:13:10","modified_gmt":"2024-01-29T09:13:10","slug":"call-for-nominations-2024-servsig-emerging-service-scholar-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2023\/11\/call-for-nominations-2024-servsig-emerging-service-scholar-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Nominations: 2024 SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"941\" height=\"627\" src=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/2024-Scholar-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13472\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/2024-Scholar-1.png 941w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/2024-Scholar-1-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/2024-Scholar-1-768x512.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 941px) 100vw, 941px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We would like to request nominations for the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2024 SERVSIG Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/strong><br \/><em>granted&nbsp;by Florida State University<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SERVSIG<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Florida State University&nbsp;<\/strong>are proud to present&nbsp;the&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/awards\/servsig-emerging-service-scholar-award\/\">Emerging Service Scholar Award<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp;This award, launched in 2015, recognizes contributions to advancing the study of service research, and will be given annually to honor the contributions of a researcher in the earlier stages of his or her academic career.&nbsp;The award includes a cash prize&nbsp;sponsored by Florida State University,&nbsp;<strong>plaque<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>spotlight features<\/strong>&nbsp;on the SERVSIG website &amp; newsletter&nbsp;and other publications.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><br \/>The nominees for the Emerging Service Scholar Award should have completed their doctoral degree no later than 10 years prior to the year of the award. This means, for the nominations for this award in <strong>2024<\/strong>, the eligibility cut off year of degree completion is <strong>2014<\/strong>.&nbsp;<br \/>Other eligibility issues:<br \/>\u2022 The nominees need to show continuous research activity in the service discipline.&nbsp;<br \/>\u2022 Candidates for a SERVSIG Award do not have to be a member of SERVSIG or the AMA to be eligible for the award.<br \/>\u2022 Candidates may be from anywhere in the world. Since its inception, SERVSIG has sought to be globally oriented and globally active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nominations<\/strong><br \/>The nomination for a candidate for the award should include:<br \/>\u2022 <strong>Only one nomination letter,<\/strong>&nbsp;no longer than double-spaced five pages signed by those who support the nomination (self-nominations are&nbsp;noteligible).<br \/>\u2022 A current vita for the nominated scholar or a web link to an online vita.<br \/>\u2022 No more than three publications representative of the nominee\u2019s contributions.<br \/>\u2022 All material needs to be submitted electronically to the selection committee chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Selection Committee<\/strong><br \/>Each year, SERVSIG appoints a panel of scholars to serve as the selection committee. The panel solicits nominations from the service community, and selects the recipient of the award. Criteria to be used to determine contribution include innovation, methodological rigor, and both current impact and future potential to substantially advance service research.&nbsp;<br \/>SERVSIG would like to thank the following members for their willingness to serve on this year\u2019s committee:<br \/>\u2022 Shashi Matta (Chair) \u2013 Germany<br \/>\u2022 Sabine Benoit \u2013 UK<br \/>\u2022 Helen Chun \u2013 USA<br \/>\u2022 Samuel P.
