Today, the University of Rostock stands for excellent study conditions and an attractive research profile. Currently, more than 12,000 students are already taking advantage of the above-average broad range of subjects with more than 90 courses of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Service management is a building block of both the research profile and the curricula taught at the Institute of Business Administration. The vacant professorship therefore has a key function for defining the profile of the institute. We expect candidates to further sharpen and extend this profile. Furthermore, in both research and teaching the Institute of Business Administration is committed to the transition of the economy towards sustainability and to the enforcement of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria. Moreover, candidates are expected to be able to collaborate within one of the departments of the university\u2019s Interdisciplinary Faculty (especially \u201cMaritime Systems\u201d and\/or \u201cAgeing of Individuals and Society\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for a scholar with a succinct profile as an empirical researcher, as demonstrated primarily by a record of publications in top-tier journals of the field. Demonstrated ability to generate public funding and intense collaborative relations to the international scientific community are also expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The professorship further is responsible for teaching courses covering the entire range of service management at both the bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s level, and for participation in teaching courses in general business administration at the bachelor\u2019s, as well as, courses in (primarily quantitative) methodology at the master\u2019s level.
