SERVSIG held its first International Research Conference in 1999. The founding concept was that a different university would host the conference every two years. To ensure novel and fun service experiences, SERVSIG also promised that the conference would never repeat a city. The SERVSIG International Research Conference has taken place in wonderful places around the world like New Orleans, USA; Sydney, Australia; Reims, France; Singapore; Liverpool, UK; Porto, Portugal; Helsinki, Finland; Thessaloniki, Greece; Maastricht, Netherlands; Paris, France; Brisbane, Australia (virtually), and Glasgow, UK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SERVSIG seeks possible conference hosts for the SERVSIG conference in 2024<\/strong>. The conferences have typically been held in late May or June. SERVSIG always tries to avoid dates when other service conferences are scheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are some of the essential details that possible conference hosts would need to address in their proposal:
\u2022 Background<\/strong> \u2013 Of the host school and host city.
\u2022 Conference Facilities<\/strong> \u2013 These can be on-campus and off-campus.
\u2022 Conference Format<\/strong> \u2013 SERVSIG prefers a brief two-day conference format on a Friday and Saturday schedule.
\u2022 Conference Dinners, Receptions, and Other Events<\/strong> \u2013 The conference starts with a Thursday reception, and include conference dinners on Friday and Saturday nights.
\u2022 Conference Organization<\/strong> \u2013 Who would be the conference co-chairs and who would be the conference support staff? (Note that SERVSIG Officers would also select a conference coordinating committee.)
\u2022 Hotel Arrangements<\/strong> \u2013 What would be the primary conference hotel? What secondary hotels would be available? What would be the estimated prices?
\u2022 Travel Arrangements<\/strong> \u2013 What are the nearest international airports, train stations, etc.
\u2022 Summary of Projected Attendee Prices<\/strong> \u2013 Summarize the projected conference attendee prices for registration, hotel, travel, etc.
\u2022 Sightseeing Possibilities in Host City or Surrounding Area<\/strong> \u2013 Discuss the city, the region, the country, special attractions, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible\nconference hosts should contact SERVSIG Co-Chairs Sertan Kabadayi (Kabadayi@fordham.edu<\/a>) and Kristina Heinonen (Kristina.Heinonen@hanken.fi<\/a>) with\ntheir questions and inquiries to indicate their interest to host the 2024 conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All conference host proposals must be submitted by Oct 15, 2022.<\/strong> The final decision on the 2024 SERVSIG conference host will be made in October 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
