{"id":11560,"date":"2021-12-03T07:30:20","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T12:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/?p=11560"},"modified":"2023-10-22T04:09:22","modified_gmt":"2023-10-22T08:09:22","slug":"call-for-nominations-2022-servsig-best-dissertation-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2021\/12\/call-for-nominations-2022-servsig-best-dissertation-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Nominations: 2022 SERVSIG Best Dissertation Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"685\" src=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation-1024x685.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation-1024x685.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation-768x514.png 768w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation-1536x1028.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-Dissertation.png 1746w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Call for Nominations for the <strong>2022 SERVSIG Best Dissertation Award<\/strong> <em>(granted by Maastricht University)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Award, Eligibility, and Selection:<\/strong><br \/>&#8211; Candidates must be doctoral students \/ graduates in marketing or a related field (e.g., consumer behavior, marketing strategy, operations&nbsp;management, organizational behavior, human resources, strategy, finance, information systems, economics, etc.) in an official university (globally).<br \/>&#8211; To be eligible, students must (have) successfully defended their dissertation between&nbsp;<strong>October&nbsp;1, 2020&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;September&nbsp;30, 2021.<\/strong><br \/>&#8211; A nominator must nominate her\/his\/their candidate by submitting a letter that highlights why the dissertation qualifies for this award in addition to confirming the successful defense of the dissertation (please see details below).&nbsp;<br \/>&#8211; Self-nominations are not accepted.&nbsp;<br \/>&#8211; An academic selection&nbsp;committee will evaluate the submissions based on quality of the dissertation\u2019s&nbsp;contribution to service research&nbsp;(e.g., originality, theoretical foundations, methodological execution, value of the results to service scholars and managers).<br \/>&#8211; Thanks to&nbsp;<strong>Maastricht University<\/strong>&nbsp;wewill<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>award cash prize for the winner and&nbsp;up to two runner\/s-up.<br \/>&#8211; The winner(s) will be recognized at the&nbsp;Frontiers in Service Conference in June 2022.&nbsp;<br \/>&#8211; The winner(s) are asked to present their work in a&nbsp;<strong>dedicated special session<\/strong>&nbsp;at the <em>Frontiers in Service Conference<\/em>.<br \/>&#8211; The submission deadline for this award is&nbsp;<strong>January 31, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous winners can be seen&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/awards\/servsig-dissertation-award\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submission Details:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominators must submit 2 documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Blinded<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>summary of the candidate dissertation<\/strong>, which should describe the framework of their research studies, research questions, hypotheses (if applicable), related literature, data \/ methodological approach (if applicable), findings, contributions to service theory and practice, and future research along with limitations of the dissertation. Please note: Nominators should provide enough detail for the selection committee to be able to conduct an appropriate evaluation of the work.&nbsp;Both&nbsp;cumulative and non-cumulative dissertations are welcome.<br \/>&#8211; The summary must not exceed&nbsp;<strong>5&nbsp;single-spaced text pages&nbsp;<\/strong>(not including references, figures, and tables; 12-point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margin).<br \/>&#8211; Please note that ALL these materials must be submitted&nbsp;in one single blinded file.&nbsp;<br \/>&#8211; Please follow the formatting guidelines of the&nbsp;<em>Journal of Service Research<\/em>.<br \/>&#8211; Submissions that do exceed the above page limit, that do not follow the style guide, or that are submitted as multiple files cannot be considered. Similarly, hard copy submissions cannot be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. In addition to the summary document, a nominator must provide a&nbsp;<strong>nomination letter and candidate CV<\/strong>, addressing why the dissertation deserves to be considered for the award. This nomination letter must be included in the submission email. The nominator\u2019s email letter should include the following information: candidate\u2019s name, phone number\/s, e-mail address, the university\/school awarding the degree, the date of the successful dissertation defense, name\/s of the faculty member(s) on the dissertation committee, and the candidate\u2019s current and future positions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The summary and nomination letter need to be in English, but<strong>&nbsp;the dissertation itself does not have to be English necessarily.<\/strong>&nbsp;Also the<strong>&nbsp;candidate\u2019s academic CV&nbsp;<\/strong>is required. It is recommended to include both published\/accepted and ongoing work (specifying the status of the manuscript \u2013 e.g., under review, which journal, which round).<br \/>Please submit both documents (1. Blinded summary 2. Nomination &amp; CV) in two separate pdf files <a href=\"mailto:Kabadayi@Fordham.edu\">via e-mail to&nbsp;Sertan Kabadayi<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>January 31, 2022<\/strong>.
