\u2013 2021 SERVSIG Christopher Lovelock Career Contribution Award<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Paper and Reviewer Awards from The Journal of Service Management, The Journal of Services Marketing, The Journal of Service Theory and Practice, and the Service Industries Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are excited to use a new platform Gather.Town for the SERVSIG Awards Reception!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Gather.Town you can meet your friends at the bar or sit around a table and have a private conversation. Enjoy a little social time with your friends you haven\u2019t seen in a while and don\u2019t forget to congratulate all the winners! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform will walk you through a tutorial when you join, the instruction guide below provides the most important points for participating in the reception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Join Gather.Town?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Navigate to https:\/\/gather.town\/i\/3jEAdiZV<\/a> <\/li>
  2. Enter your full name. <\/li>
  3. You can change the appearance of your avatar as well by clicking the arrows. When you\u2019re happy with your character, click on \u201cNext\u201d.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    4. Select your devices such as your camera, microphone, and speaker and then click \u201cJoin Gathering\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Upon entry, you will be loaded into a tutorial on how to use the program. Once the tutorial is over or skipped, you will be in our gather space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Socialize\nin Gather. Town?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First,<\/strong> let\neveryone know who you are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the\nbottom center of the screen, you will see the following activity bar: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The\nactivity bar provides some useful functionality: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Change the appearance of your character by clicking on avatar on the bottom center of the screen<\/li>
    2. Please use your first and last name. In the status tell us your school or business you are representing.<\/li>
    3. This will provide you with a map of the space you\u2019re in.<\/li>
    4. Share your screen.<\/li>
    5. Express an emotion with an emoji! The emoji will appear over your avatars head on the map<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Second,<\/strong> let\u2019s\nmove around the space! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. To get around, use your keyboard arrows to make your avatar walk.<\/li>
      2. Your video and audio automatically connect to others when you get close to them. <\/li>
      3. We encourage the winners and editors to hang out in the dedicated rooms to congratulate and receive congratulations but you are also free to move around and visit all the rooms!<\/li>
      4. On the left side of the screen, a list of participants will appear by pushing the people icon at the bottom left. You can search the participants you\u2019d like to interact with. If you select locate, a direction line will show up, just follow that to reach the desired participant.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
