Arnold<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New <strong>Deadline: 1 Nov 2021<\/strong><br \/><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201c<strong>Frontlines-in-Change<\/strong>\u201d (FiCa) theme concerns the role of frontlines in leading change in times of disruption, crisis and transition. The theme is broadly construed to include issues that range from how frontlines involve critical capabilities in fast-changing environments to how frontlines navigate challenges of unprecedented market, social, and cultural disruptions.&nbsp; Frontlines is the study of interactions and interfaces at the point-of-contact between an organization and its customers that promote, facilitate, or enable value creation and exchange. Frontlines may be human or machine or combinations thereof, and is not limited to the individual level analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cFrontlines-in-Change\u201d (FiCa) theme advances several recent&nbsp;<strong><em>JSR<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;initiatives:<br \/>&#8211; Recent Editorials on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1177\/1094670520944606\"><em>Frontline Employees<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1177\/1094670520944608\"><em>Service Safety<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;during the COVID-19 Pandemic.&nbsp;<\/em><br \/>&#8211; A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.servsig.org\/wordpress\/2020\/08\/cfp-jsr-jams-frontlines-in-crisis\/\">\u201cFrontlines-in-Crisis\u201d competition<\/a> co-sponsored with the Organizational Frontlines Interest Group (due December 15, 2020). {Authors interested in submitting for the FiCa theme are encouraged to submit earlier versions of their work to the OFR research competition for review and feedback.}<br \/>&#8211; A FiCa session (virtual) as part of the February 18, 2021 OFR symposium to provide a forum for interested authors to obtain feedback\/discussion on the Special Issue\/Section from JSR Editorial team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions to the special issue\/section are\u2026<br \/> \u2022    <strong>submitted by Nov 1, 2021.<\/strong> <br \/> \u2022    open to all scholars in any discipline with service interest<br \/> \u2022    open to conceptual and\/or empirical contributions<br \/> \u2022    open to any and multiple levels of analysis (e.g., individual, group, organizational, cultural)<br \/> \u2022    scheduled to be processed on a \u201cfirst accepted \u2013 first published\u201d basis in consideration of the timeliness of the topic, and appear in a regular or dedicated issue of JSR depending on timing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possible FiCa topics may include but are not limited to frontline-driven change, innovation, resilience and revival in\u2026<br \/>\n\u2022    periods of pandemic, unrest, disruption, and\/or crisis<br \/>\n\u2022    the aftermath of acute disasters, such as mass shootings or natural disasters<br \/>\n\u2022    challenges of food, water, climate and sustainability<br \/>\n\u2022    access and provision of quality education, health care and security<br \/>\n\u2022    public policy issues related to regulatory and societal change<br \/>\n\u2022    for-profit and not-for-profit organizations<br \/>\n\u2022    temporary and public service organizations <br \/>\n\u2022    economic impact of frontline change<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Questions regarding submissions may be sent to either co-editor of this special issue\/section: <a href=\"mailto: marinovad@missouri.edu\">Detelina Marinova<\/a> and <a href=\"mailto: todd.arnold@okstate.edu\">Todd Arnold<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Paper for the&nbsp;Journal of Service Research \u201cFrontlines-in-Change\u201d&nbsp; Guest editors: D.
