The Organizational Frontlines\u2020<\/sup> Interest Group<\/em><\/strong> has held a research symposium to precede the AMA Winter Educators conference for the past several years. This year, due to Covid-19 challenges, the 2021 symposium is cancelled. In an effort to continue to advance OF research and engage OF community in these trying times, OFR is sponsoring a special \u201cthemed\u201d competition for early- and mid-career scholars (< 10 yrs post-Ph.D.) in any field of specialization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cFrontlines-in-Crisis\u201d theme is developed in partnership with the Journal of Service Research <\/em><\/strong>(JSR) <\/em>and <\/em><\/strong>the Journal of the Academy of Marketing<\/em><\/strong> Science<\/em><\/strong> (JAMS<\/em>) to recognize the role of frontlines in times of disruption and crisis.  The theme is broad and concerns issues that range from<\/em> how frontlines involve critical capabilities in fast-changing environments to<\/em> how frontlines are challenged by unprecedented market disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JSR<\/em><\/strong> and JAMS<\/em><\/strong> differ in their focus, but share a common interest with OFR in advancing scholarship that addresses the Frontlines-in-Crisis theme.  The JSR<\/em><\/strong> just published Editorials on Frontline Employees<\/em><\/a> and <\/em>Service Safety<\/em><\/a> during COVID-19 Pandemic.  <\/em>The JAMS<\/em><\/strong> has published several recent articles that highlight Frontline-in-Crisis topics including brand transgressions<\/a>, trust and market turbulence<\/a>, and value co-destruction<\/a>.  The joint partnership with JSR<\/em> and JAMS<\/em> reflects that OFR interests cross boundaries and disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalists will be invited to submit a full-length research article to JSR<\/em><\/strong> or JAMS<\/em><\/strong> for publication consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submis<\/strong>sions (15-page limit) are accepted from\u00a0December 15, 2020 until December 31,\u00a02020. <\/strong><\/em>
– Address any topic within the frontline \u201ccrisis\u201d theme, broadly defined.
– 15 pages (maximum, all-inclusive), double spaced detailing research questions & significance, theory & hypotheses, research design\/methodology, and (expected) results.
– Papers accepted for publication or at advanced stages of review (2nd<\/sup>, 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0round, etc.) are\u00a0not\u00a0eligible.
– Submissions will be eligible for a\u00a0$1500 cash prize<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Multiple awards available.\u00a0\u00a0Rising Scholars\u00a0(0-10 years from graduation), as well as\u00a0doctoral students\u00a0are eligible for this award.
– Finalists will be honored virtually in a recognition ceremony involving invited, prominent OF scholars. Presentation date February 18, 2021.
– Access to OFR network to support research. Priority invitation to future Organizational Frontline Research Symposia.\u00a0
– Deadline for submission:\u00a0\u00a0December 31, 2020<\/strong> with winners notified by January, 2021.
Submissions will be sent for review and processed upon receipt.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
