Third Global Conference on Creating Value
2-3 June 2020, online
20-21 October 2020
École Des Ponts Business School, Paris
Deadline: 23 April 2020
Adapting to the coronavirus
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our speakers, partners, and attendees to the Third Global Conference on Creating Value. We have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation to ensure we take every precaution to look after our global community.
Given the current situation of growing uncertainty, confinement measures and other interventions it is evident that we must adapt to these changing times. However, we believe this is also an opportunity. Humanity has not always proven able to rally around important global challenges, but the current crisis is a peremptory call to action that we cannot ignore.
Online and ‘real life’ conferences
First, the conference format is adapted into an online event with global reach on June 2 and 3, 2020. The online event will also be a lead-up to the ‘real life’ conference, which will take place on October 20 and 21 in Paris.
The online and ‘real life’ conferences will be closely integrated, and linked by a common theme: How is value creation challenged by global crisis, now and in the future? How can we contribute to defining a “new normal” in terms of value creation and its counterpart: value destruction?
The online conference will allow us to practice, experiment and learn from the challenges and opportunities that come with social distancing. New and existing formats and technologies will be used, allowing us to link up as a dynamic community. We will be working together and sharing ideas, knowledge and good practices on value creation – and their impact on business and society. Insights and other results from the online conference will be worked into the ‘real life’ conference in Paris on October 20 and 21.
Both the June and October conference events will include keynotes featuring an exciting mix of industry, organizations, NGOs, consulting firms, advocacy, government, creatives, artists, as well as other thought leaders from multiple industries. It will also offer opportunities to showcase and share exciting new ways of understanding value in what promises to be a world where ‘tried and true’ no longer means much!
With the online and ‘real life’ conferences we together will keep our global Creating Value Community connected, help to expand our participant’s networks and further leverage that through the richness of interpersonal connections during the conference in October.
The organizing committee of the Third Global Conference on Creating Value is inviting academics and professionals to share their latest insights and/or research findings on the topic of Creating Value through a paper, poster or video presentation, or any other creative way to share the knowledge that is suitable for a conference setting, by 23 April 2020.
Please stay tuned for further details on the online conference program we’re building, and which we will share as soon as we can.
Conference co-chairs: Gautam Mahajan (Editor of the Journal of Creating Value), Martin Calnan (École des Ponts Business School), and Martijn Rademakers (Amsterdam Business School).
