Organizational Frontline Research Symposium
13-14 February, 2020
San Diego, CA

Deadline: 30 September, 2019

The 6th annual Organizational Frontline Research (OFR) Symposium will take place immediately preceding the Winter AMA Educators’ Conference, on February 13th and 14th, 2020 in San Diego, California. Like previous OFR events, this symposium is intended to promote scholarship in the area of OFR, bringing together scholars and practitioners to discuss cutting edge ideas. The symposium is co-sponsored by AMA, Sheth Foundation and Marketing Science Institute.

Given the limited number of academic presentations we can schedule, we are asking those who are interested in presenting to submit a brief PowerPoint proposal by September 30th. Each proposal will be reviewed by a committee of academics who will make a decision by October 15, 2019.

Guidelines for Proposal Submission:
We encourage you to submit your best frontline work, including research on service and sales across B2B, B2C and B2G. While the 2020 OFR Symposium will highlight different perspectives on the frontline across disciplines, we welcome all frontline-related topics.

The submissions should be in the form of about 10 slides that include the following:
(1) Problem – identify the problem addressed and why it is important for OFR
(2) Approach –outline your approach (e.g., framework, research design, data)
(3) Results – highlight your key results
(4) Implications for Practice – specify how your results can help practitioners make decisions

Submissions should also include the name of all coauthors and their university affiliations. Submission to the symposium does not preclude your work from being published by any journal. Submissions should be sent Jenny Van Doorn (j.van.doorn@rug.nl).

In addition to the 2020 OFR symposium, there is the 4th Annual Young Scholar Research Competition.

ABOUT OFR
Organizational Frontlines Research is the study of interactions and interfaces at the point-of-contact between an organization and its customers that promote, facilitate, or enable value creation and exchange. Technological advances at the intersection of frontline interactions and interfaces are disrupting how organizations connect with their customers. The purpose of this symposium is to foster theoretical and empirical research in this emergent area. More information about OFR can be found on the ASU Center for Services Leadership’s website and OSU Center for Sales & Service Excellence’s website.
